Hello from magichour camp!

During this rainy season, something incredibly special and unforgettable happened at our campsite.

About six months ago, we opened our doors to welcome international travelers. And just recently, at the end of this spring season, our very first international guests arrived—three wonderful young adults in their early 20s (Coen, Ellis, Noah) all the way from Washington, USA.

The weather brought a gentle drizzle on the first day and a mostly cloudy sky with brief moments of sunlight on the second. It was the perfect backdrop to showcase the deep, lush greenery of the Japanese mountains, looking mystically beautiful just as they do during this time of year.

In the evening, we all gathered around the barbecue, sharing drinks and losing track of time as we talked about our dreams, what we are all doing in our lives right now, and our own journey of building this place.

The next morning, we took them out for a local drive.

Since it happened to be June 30th—a significant day of seasonal transition in Japan—we visited Shizuoka Sengen Shrine together to experience the traditional Chinowa-kuguri (a ritual of walking through a large thatch ring to pray for health and purification for the rest of the year). Being able to share this local spiritual tradition with them at the perfect moment was a truly wonderful coincidence.

After they returned , they left us such a heartwarming message:

"Your hospitality far exceeded any of our expectations. It was truly an amazing experience that we will treasure for the rest of our lives. I will be sure to visit you the next time I'm in Japan!"

For the past six months, we had been constan

tly brainstorming and wondering how we could best bring joy to visitors from abroad.

But after spending time with them and reading their kind words, we realized it wasn’t about marketing techniques or strategic planning. Instead, it gave us a quiet yet powerful conviction: "The way we have been welcoming people, straight from the heart, is exactly the right path."

It is not about flashy promotions or commercialized service. It is about connecting deeply and authentically with each and every person who finds their way to us.

Our bookings for international travelers will take a short break during the peak summer weeks and will officially resume on September 28th this autumn.

We look forward to taking our time, preparing each step thoughtfully, and continuing to create a warm space where everyone who chooses this place can take home the best memories of Japan.
