A Small Life We Met in the Forest

Deep in the forest, we met two small fawns.

They looked very young. Perhaps they had just left their mother, or maybe they had simply lost sight of her for a moment. They stood there quietly, looking a little scared and unsure.

I gently spoke to them.

“Don’t worry. You are safe. There is nothing to be afraid of.”

Of course, they could not understand my words.

But at that moment, I just wanted to offer a little comfort to these small lives.

In this forest, deer and wild boars live alongside us.

In Japan, they are sometimes seen as a problem when they come close to human areas and damage crops.

But they are also precious lives that have always belonged to these mountains and forests.

Watching these two young deer, I felt a deep happiness knowing that new lives are being born here, and that generations continue to connect in this forest.

Nature is not only a place where we come to enjoy beautiful scenery.

It is a place where countless lives exist together.
