Our Forest
Growing Together With the Forest
Before creating magichour camp calyptus, we first came to this mountain as a quiet forest surrounded by nature.

Deep among the trees, we could not see Mt. Fuji or the ocean.
As we slowly cared for the land and opened parts of the forest, a breathtaking landscape appeared — Mt. Fuji rising above the mountains, Suruga Bay stretching into the distance, and changing light moving through the trees.

We also discovered that this forest had its own history.
Like many forests in Japan, it had once been planted and shaped by people.
Over time, parts of the forest became too dense, leaving little sunlight for new life to grow.
Our goal was never simply to clear trees or create a campsite.
We wanted to help the forest become healthier, little by little.
As sunlight returns to the forest floor, plants, insects, birds, and other forms of life begin to return. We simply do what we can, then allow nature to continue its own work.
Even today, we are still learning from this mountain.

We are not the owners of the forest.
We are only one small part of its long story.
Every season brings something new, and sometimes the forest changes our plans. We have learned to accept its rhythm rather than control it.
Our hope is that this forest will continue to grow and thrive for generations to come — and that our guests can experience, even for a short time, what it means to live alongside nature.
