The Beginning of Our Connection With This Forest
Before creating magichour camp , we first met this mountain as a quiet forest surrounded by nature.
At that time, we did not know what this place was truly hiding.
Deep inside the forest, we could not see the view of Mt. Fuji or the ocean.
They were hidden behind the trees that had grown for many years.
As we slowly cared for the forest and opened parts of the land, a breathtaking landscape began to appear before us.

We discovered that this mountain had been holding a beautiful story all along.
This place taught us that nature is not something to be used, but something to be respected and cared for.
Our connection with this forest began by simply listening, observing, and learning from the land.
A Forest That Was Once Planted
The forest you see today has its own history.
Like many forests throughout Japan, this mountain was once covered with trees planted by people.
After World War II, many areas across Japan were planted with fast-growing conifer trees such as cedar and cypress, creating forests that supported the country’s recovery and growth.
This mountain was also part of that story.
However, as times changed, many planted forests were left without enough care and management.
When forests become too dense, sunlight cannot reach the forest floor.
Without enough light, new plants cannot grow, and the rich cycle of life within the forest begins to disappear.
When we first came here, we saw a forest that had been shaped by both nature and human hands.
We realized that this was not just a place to use, but a place with a story that needed to be understood and cared for.
Growing the Forest
From the beginning, our goal was never simply to clear trees or create a campsite.
We wanted to help this forest become healthier, little by little.
A healthy forest is not made only of trees.
It is supported by rich soil, clean water, wildflowers, insects, birds, animals, fungi, and countless small forms of life, all connected in a natural cycle.
As sunlight reaches the forest floor once again, new plants begin to grow.
Birds carry seeds, insects return, and the forest slowly starts to renew itself.
Nature cannot be rushed.
We simply do what we can, then allow the forest to continue its own work.
Even today, we are still learning from this mountain.
Every season reminds us that we are not the owners of the forest.
We are only one small part of its long story.
Our hope is that this forest will continue to grow and thrive, not only during our lifetime, but for generations to come.
Living Together with Nature
This forest is home to far more than people.
Deer quietly walk through the trees.
Birds fill the morning with their songs.
Tiny insects, mushrooms, and wild plants each play their own important role.
Every season brings new colors, new sounds, and new life.
We are only visitors in this natural world.
Our role is not to control it, but to live alongside it with respect.
Sometimes nature changes our plans.
A rainy day, a fallen branch, or a visit from wildlife reminds us that this mountain follows its own rhythm.
Rather than resisting it, we choose to accept it.
We believe that sharing this experience with our guests is one of the greatest gifts this forest can offer.
