Before Your Stay

Everything You Need to Know Before Your Stay

magichour camp calyptus is an off-grid private campsite surrounded by the mountains and forest of Shizuoka.

Before your visit, we would like you to know a little about the environment and the way of life here. This is a simple camping experience surrounded by nature, rather than a conventional hotel or resort.

Knowing what to expect will help you prepare for your stay and enjoy your time here comfortably.

A Simple, Off-Grid Stay

There is no electricity at the campsite.

If you need to charge your phone or other devices, you can charge them at our home nearby.

The campsite is designed to give you a chance to slow down, disconnect from everyday life, and spend time surrounded by nature.

There is no shower or bath at the campsite.

Water & Toilet

We use natural spring water at the campsite.

The water is not connected to the public water supply, so please follow our guidance regarding drinking water during your stay.

We use a composting toilet.

Nature Around You

You will be staying in a natural mountain environment surrounded by forest.

You may encounter insects, birds, and other wildlife during your stay. This is part of the experience of staying close to nature.

Please keep food and belongings properly stored and respect the natural environment around you.

Camping Comfort

We provide the basic equipment you need for a comfortable camping stay:

  • Large tent

  • Bedding

  • Wood stove

  • Tableware

  • Fire pit

  • Firewood

The campsite is prepared for a comfortable stay, but this is still a camping experience. Please come prepared to spend time outdoors and close to nature.

Food & Camp Cooking

Meals are not included, but cooking is part of the experience at our camp.

You can buy your favorite food at a local supermarket and cook it yourself using the cooking equipment we provide.

We enjoy BBQ, simple stews, and other camp-style dishes cooked over the fire.

If you are interested in Japanese food, we can also help you choose ingredients and enjoy making a Japanese meal together.

We can help you find places to buy food and supplies, and we can also stop at a local supermarket together before heading to the campsite.

If you have any dietary needs, food preferences, or special requests, please let us know in advance.

Weather & Preparation

Mountain weather can change quickly, and temperatures can feel different from those in nearby towns and cities.

Please check the weather forecast before your arrival and bring clothing suitable for the season.

For more information about seasonal temperatures, weather, and what to expect during each season, please see our Seasonal Information page.
